Van Halen have officially completed recording on their new album and have entered the mixing phase, according to the album’s producer. Are tour dates coming next?
Producer/engineer Ross Hogarth recently joined Ultimate-Guitar.com for a Q&A on his career and the album. He revealed that typically the longest and hardest part of creating an album, the recording process, is complete.

VH are one step closer to releasing their first record with the original lineup that tore across the world in the ’80s in nearly 30 years!
“We have just started mixing the record,” Hogarth said. “I’m really stoked about it, as it is the original band, Eddie and Alex with Wolf playing bass, and David Lee Roth singing, it’s the killing side of Van Halen at the top of their game again with Diamond Dave, and the band on fire.”
This goes along with what Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti said about the samples of the album he heard, which he called “Vintage Van Halen.”
Meanwhile, a “trusted source” at MelodicRock.com informed them that Van Halen’s anticipated world tour is currently booking dates and will commence in November continuing through most of 2012.
So why we still have to wait through summer for anything new from Van Halen, at least it keeps getting closer! How pumped are you for the new album?
