Classic Rock magazine has decided to honor the illustrious career of Jeff Beck by granting him the Living Legend Award at a presentation ceremony set to take place on November 9th.

Upon hearing the news, Beck told BBC News, “I’m really a backroom boy, not a mainstream rock act. It means someone is out there looking at what I’m doing, which is really nice.”

Pretty modest for a living legend.

Jeff Beck on music, “Maybe I’ll hear an opera singer and go home and write a heavy metal riff. It’s just what music does to me. It’s hard to explain.

Gene Simmons of KISS will host the ceremony.
