With the release of their new(?) song “Tattoo,” some hardcore fans are saying that it sounds strikingly similar to old song “Down in Flames.”
They played it live in 1977 but never actually put on an album. So did they just repackage it or is this a whole new song? You be the judge:

It’s a reworked version of the old song for sure….but nothing wrong with that as it’s their material!!.. The new song sounds ok but I’m surprised that the weakest part is DLR’s vocals – not out of tune but his articulation and style has changed dramatically – sounds more like his later solo stuff than the older Van Halen sound…I’m hoping there’s a lot more interesting stuff on the album….
