For the first time since recording “Ebony and Ivory” 30 years ago, Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder are at it again, collaborating on Paul’s new album Kisses On The Bottom.
WZLX Flashback: Paul McCartney at…
Kisses On The Bottom will be mostly renditions of classic songs that inspired McCartney when he was just a young lad.
Only two songs on the entire album will be McCartney’s own, with one of them being “Only Our Hearts” featuring Stevie Wonder.
McCartney talked about working with Stevie again:
“Stevie came along to the studio in LA and he listened to the track for about ten minutes and he totally got it. He just went to the mic and within 20 minutes had nailed this dynamite solo. When you listen you just think, ‘How do you come up with that?’ But it’s just because he is a genius, that’s why.”
And that’s why he’s collaborating with McCartney once again, for being a genius. The second song on the album that is not a cover is featuring another genius – Eric Clapton - and it’s called “My Valentine.”
Kisses On The Bottom is due out February 6th, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
