No, not the United States…The band America, known for classic hits like “A Horse With No Name” and “Sister Golden Hair,” is set to receive a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame, joining The Beatles and many other great classic rock acts on the world-famous walk.
Classic Music Stars on the Hollywood…
Monday, February 6 marks the day that the Gerry Beckley-led band receives their star, the 2,459th in its history.
Ozzy Osbourne, Rush and Motley Crue are bands with stars in the same area as where America’s will be placed. The band will follow their induction with a concert and Q&A the next night at the Los Angeles Grammy Museum.
If you don’t know “Sister Golden Hair” off the top of your head, you probably have heard it before. Listen for the familiar slide-guitar riff at the beginning.
But I got so damn depressed
That I set my sights on Monday
And I got myself undressed
I ain't ready for the altar
