Hulk Hogan Almost Joined Metallica Back in the Day

In a recent interview with The Sun magazine, Hulk Hogan revealed that drummer Lars Ulrich asked the macho, session bassist if he wanted to join Metallica back in the day but it never materialized.

Could anyone imagine what the wrestling world would have been like had Hulk Hogan never stepped in the ring? Or what Metallica would have sounded like without founding bassist Cliff Burton?
Apparently, those exact scenarios weren’t too far from reality. Lars Ulrich extended the invite to a young Terry Bollea, who was just a “session musician” at the time, but it never came to fruition.
Hogan told The Sun:
“I used to be a session musician before I was a wrestler. I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn’t work out.”
It’s safe to say that both Metallica and the wrestling world as we know it would have been completely different had those scenarios worked out.
But you know what they say? Everything happens for a reason!
