Have you heard about these urinals (pictured above) modeled after the Rolling Stones’ famous lips-and-tongue logo? They have incited controversy since their installation after people have declared them sexist. The original designer of the logo, John Pasche, had remained silent on the urinals until now.

Pasche recently spoke to MTV Hive about the urinals, which were installed in a Germany museum several years ago but just recently have sparked outrage from feminists claiming the urinals are sexist.

He said the logo was originally intended to be “a protest symbol and have an anti-authority feel to it really, so that it would work well with them being the bad boys of rock and roll.”

What the detractors don’t seem to realize is that the logo is actually modeled originally after Mick Jagger’s mouth, not a woman’s. Even so, aren’t they technically androgynous? It’s just lips and a tongue! Pretty sure both men and women have those.

It’s the fact that it’s a urinal, which only men use, that’s causing questions about its sexist nature. But in reality this should be a non-issue. And anyone who hates the urinals must not be a Stones fan.

What do you think about the Rolling Stones urinals? Are they sexist? Or just a cool, funny design?
