European Customs Officials Mistake the Red Hot Chili Peppers For Metallica

by Alisha Jackson

Yesterday, customs officials in Belarus decided that it was Metallica‘s aeroplane, not the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘.

After mistaking Flea and company for Metallica (but, how?), and being corrected by the band, customs officials for an airport in Belarus insisted that the band still sign their Metallica merch. “We were called into customs officials office at an airport in Belarus and they asked us to sign a bunch of Metallica cd’s and photos,” Flea writes. “We tried to explain to them that we weren’t Metallica but they insisted that we sign anyway. They had the power. Well I did play ‘Fight Fire With [Fire]’ with Metallica once. I love Metallica anyways but I’m no Robert Trujillo.”

The best part? Most of the memorabilia was PHOTOS of METALLICA.

Could the image or sound of these bands be anymore polar opposite?!
