Listen up folks, some rumors are worth the spreadin’!

Especially this tasty morsel about the iconic music club CBGB reopening, which closed on October 15, 2006 after lengthy disputes over back rent between owner Hilly Kristal and the Bowery Residents’ Committee.

It’s good to be back again. Lots going on around town despite the now-seasonable New England temps. Being from outside of Boston proper isn’t a bad thing, not to me. Tonight we took a bit of a road trip
around New England – Boston, Plymouth, Amherst, Northampton,Portsmouth, Portland and Providence and Burlington, VT were all represented.

For more than 20 years, Boston Emissions aired Sunday nights on 104.1fm. In 2009, the show moved to CBS Radio’s sister station, 100.7fm WZLX.

The mission of Boston Emissions is to expose and support independent bands and artists of varying rock styles from Boston and New England.

Patti Smith was all set to take the stage for a private performance at the Hotel Chelsea last night, much to the distaste of many of its residents. Many believed she would be “selling out” and taking the side of the building’s new owner, who is evicting over thirty tenants.

But after hearing of their objections, the “Godmother of Punk” decided it would be best to cancel the show.

What did Patti have to say?

Dustin Hengst of Damone passed away on Thursday at the age of 39.  He was loved by many and leaves a lot of friends and fans behind. One of those friends –  and bandmate – Bleu posted about the paypal established to assist his family. One never gets used to doing shows such as this nor dealing with such heavy subject matter. The best we can do is be heartfelt and real about it. It sucks.Open Hearts and Open Earholes for Boston Rock Music
